i hope i can give account for what i know
i hope i can speak loud enough of the things i have learned
for i saw grown men break and cry
i saw children freed from brothels
clasp their wet faces in celebration and joy
and out of writhing pain,
laughter soared on eagles wings
for amidst the struggle,
we are commanded to feast on goodness
there is hope in redemption. restoration.
and faith enables us to laugh in the face of conflict
because there is one is who is mighty to save
mighty to save
and i cannot solve all
but am called to intercede
to ask boldly
to be part of something bigger than myself.
bigger than myself
that speaks to our humanness,
for the truth exists outside of the moment
and holds forever.
